40 Reasons Why Your Diet Does Work

My response to an article in the Daily Mail Tues 3rd July 2012
There was an article in the Daily Mail this week called 40 reasons why your diet doesn’t work. With all the temptation of processed foods and ambiguous information out there it would be nice to hear something positive about our lives. So I decided to write my positive take on the article, 40 positive reasons why your diets do work… because
You realise that you own health is your own wealth and you alone are entirely responsible for it.
You eat protein at every meal including breakfast, eggs are most common.
You rarely have caffeine and you no longer use it as a stimulant to get you through the tired days. Caffeine affects the function your adrenal glands which producing numerous hormones that impact our development and growth, affect our ability to deal with stress and help …

Reasons to Retire in Thailand: Medical Care

People come from around the world to be treated (and pampered) in Thailand’s hospitals and clinics, and for good reason. Thai doctors, often trained in the West and speaking excellent English, are dedicated to caring for you, not exploiting you. Sure, they lead nice, middle-class lives but, beyond that, their days revolve around their patients. Thailand is a Buddhist country and the practice of compassion is taken seriously by everyone, especially those in the medical profession.
A consultation with a Thai doctor is eye-opening. There is usually no waiting time because keeping patients waiting is considered impolite(!) and your physician will spend all the time you feel you need with you, listening to you and examining you slowly and carefully. There’s no rush. No attempt to push you out the door. It’s like going back in time to the days before medicine became predatory.
Thai nurses, who bear the brunt …

6 Reasons You Should Be Motivate To Get Your Workout ON

Let’s face it; most of us want to lose weight. It’s something that nags at us day after day. I’ve seen jokes talking about how the clothing elves sneak into closets at night and sew clothes smaller, or how the washing machine / dryer shrunk clothes. As cute as these jokes are, we all know the truth.
I have researched healthy eating / living for many, many years and I keep coming to the same conclusion… it’s a way of life. It’s not the latest fad diet or fad workout program… it actually has to be a complete change in lifestyle. Everything from how we eat to how much exercise we get must be changed… permanently. Now, I would love to be able to buy all organic food and be the skinniest person out there (within reason, obviously), but I can’t and I’m not. Instead, I choose to lead a …

Reasons Why President Obama Isn’t Keeping His Campaign Promises

What about the many promises that Obama said he would do in his first term? Has anyone thought of why it is they are being ignored by the media? Why does the media put a promise on a lower pedestal than the promise maker?
Look, I know that sometimes promises are made simply because they just want to be elected. They outright lie to our faces knowing that most voters forget a majority of what they said, but that must stop because this country is falling apart little by little because of voters bad habits.
Think you know Obama? Think Again!
Think you can explain why his promises are not being fulfilled? It’s a loaded answer!
Liberals and progressives have made so many excuses for his failures that they cannot be counted in one article but it only takes a few to prove his in- eligibility to make more promises …

7 Reasons For A Healthy Lifestyle Change

So, you’re sitting there on the sofa, watching TV and eating your favorite snack food, you know what I’m talking about – chips, cookies, ice cream and the like, when you look down to brush the crumbs away and the thought hits you. Wow! I really need to do something about this (poor eating, belly rolls, thighs like tree trunks – the giant trees kind of trunks, couch-potato-ness). I will run, umm… drive, to the store and grab the latest, greatest diet book and hit it hard, not not on your forehead, get the new diet going with a grand new desire to recommit to get that weight off.
Problem is, you never get to the book/magazine section of any store. Or say you do, but never actually even open the book/magazine. Okay, for the sake of argument, you do the diet. You actually lose a little something, but it …
